It is the sincere hope of Jonathan Education Consulting International (JECI) to popularize Chinese language around the world, to introduce Chinese language teachers around the world, and to promote the international understanding about China.
According to the international statistics, there are approximately 100 million people outside of China using and learning Chinese. A lot of institutions of learning in about 100 countries open the course of Chinese and more and more middle and primary schools choose Chinese as one of the foreign languages as their required or elective subjects. United States Government initiated the National Security Language Initiative (NSLI) early in 2006, including Chinese as one of its elective foreign languages to be taught throughout the country, it is planning, within its NSLI, to recruit 2000 foreign language teachers, to teach its students.
Through the Learning Federation, Australian Government is appropriating 3 million Australian dollars in 2006 towards the development of online curriculum resources for the teaching of Chinese, Indonesian and Japanese. As of today, Chinese becomes one of top four foreign languages in Australian schools.
The United Kingdom initiated the National Languages Strategy (NLS) in 2002; In 2005 the Government announced a three-year strategy for the development in languages with a fund of ¡ê115 million for languages teaching. A lot of other countries also chose Chinese language as their required or elective course in their schools.
Chinese language teaching develops rapidly in other countries with dramatic increase in the number of people learning Chinese. However, there is still a long way to go to satisfy the demand due to the limited number of teachers of Chinese. Therefore, many partners request JECI to dispatch teachers of Chinese to teach in their countries.
To answer this request, JECI plans to dispatch 50-100 Chinese teachers to our partners in three years time. Those who are willing to teach Chinese abroad may apply by downloading our Application Form.
JECI welcomes more schools and colleges abroad to discuss about this exciting and innovative project.
